The aim of a Backgammon match is to shift your checkers around the game board and bear them off the game board faster than your opponent who works just as hard to do the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Succeeding in a game in Backgammon needsrequires both tactics and fortune. Just how far you can move your chips is up to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and just how you move your checkers are decided on by your overall gambling plans. Players use a few tactics in the differing stages of a game based on your positions and opponent's.

The Running Game Plan

The aim of the Running Game tactic is to lure all your chips into your inside board and get them off as fast as you can. This strategy focuses on the speed of shifting your pieces with little or no efforts to hit or block your opponent's pieces. The best time to employ this strategy is when you believe you might be able to shift your own chips a lot faster than the opposition does: when 1) you have a fewer pieces on the game board; 2) all your pieces have past your competitor's checkers; or 3) the opponent does not use the hitting or blocking plan.

The Blocking Game Plan

The primary aim of the blocking technique, by the title, is to stop your competitor's chips, temporarily, while not worrying about moving your pieces quickly. After you have established the blockade for the opponent's movement with a couple of chips, you can shift your other checkers quickly from the board. The player really should also have an apparent strategy when to extract and shift the pieces that you used for blocking. The game becomes interesting when the opposition utilizes the same blocking technique.
