As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of skill and good luck. The aim is to shift your checkers carefully around the board to your home board and at the same time your opponent shifts their checkers toward their inside board in the opposite direction. With opposing player checkers shifting in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for specific tactics at specific times. Here are the two final Backgammon plans to complete your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the purpose of the blocking tactic is to hamper the opponents ability to move their pieces, the Priming Game tactic is to completely barricade any movement of the opposing player by constructing a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent's pieces will either get hit, or end up in a battered position if she at all tries to escape the wall. The ambush of the prime can be setup anyplace between point 2 and point 11 in your game board. Once you've successfully built the prime to block the movement of your opponent, the opponent does not even get a chance to roll the dice, that means you move your chips and roll the dice yet again. You'll be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Strategy

The goals of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game tactic are similar - to hurt your opponent's positions with hope to better your odds of succeeding, but the Back Game plan utilizes seperate tactics to do that. The Back Game tactic is often employed when you're far behind your opponent. To participate in Backgammon with this plan, you need to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This strategy is more challenging than others to employ in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the checkers are relocated is partly the result of the dice toss.
