The aim of a Backgammon game is to move your chips around the Backgammon board and get them off the game board quicker than your opposing player who works harder to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Succeeding in a match in Backgammon requires both strategy and good luck. Just how far you will be able to move your checkers is up to the numbers from tossing the dice, and how you move your checkers are decided on by your overall gambling strategies. Enthusiasts use a few techniques in the different parts of a match depending on your positions and opponent's.

The Running Game Technique

The aim of the Running Game plan is to entice all your pieces into your inside board and bear them off as quick as you can. This technique concentrates on the pace of shifting your pieces with absolutely no time spent to hit or barricade your competitor's pieces. The best scenario to use this plan is when you believe you might be able to move your own checkers quicker than the opponent does: when 1) you have a fewer checkers on the board; 2) all your pieces have past your opponent's checkers; or 3) the opposing player does not employ the hitting or blocking tactic.

The Blocking Game Technique

The primary goal of the blocking strategy, by the title, is to block your competitor's pieces, temporarily, not worrying about moving your checkers rapidly. As soon as you have created the blockage for the competitor's movement with a couple of chips, you can shift your other chips swiftly from the board. The player should also have an apparent strategy when to extract and move the checkers that you employed for blocking. The game gets interesting when your competitor utilizes the same blocking strategy.
